The Secret History of Burger Pig

You know me, I'm not into AI. Except as a quantum-tulpa/goblin-divination science experiment, probing and auditing the oracular workings of a malfunctioning fake electronic brain. Manitou theory says all things are alive and sentient, even images and ideas. Tulpa theory says we make images and ideas (even when crudely created by an insane brain-damaged AI) more powerful with attention, adding mass and energy. Think about that while surfing the multiverse.

Despite my antipathy for "AI art", Pig has persuaded me to do this feature, a story told in parallel-bizarro-universe bad AI imagery that looks nothing like Pig but he says that ain't the point.

A couple years back, when we were living on Perico Island, Florida, there was an island within the island, out on Perico Bay. Pig declared it to be PIG ISLAND, his own tropical stronghold. Soon he opened a burger stand on it, a primitive small wooden hut/kiosk that served burgers, fries, and cola. "What kind of cola?" I asked. "Mystery Unknown Pig-brand cola", he replied.

Initially the venture was called BIG BUTT BURGERS but the colloquial name that stuck was simply BURGER PIG. (His primary cheeseburger offering is still known, however, as the Big Butt Burger.) And apparently it's true, if you build it, they will come. Before long it was a thriving business despite being hidden on an island within a swampy obscure island. Customers from all over the Fren Scale showed up regularly to chow down and gab with this crazy Pigboy.

Currently, in Kentucky, Pig has a new Burger Pig location, hidden in a remote wooded corner of a public park that nobody ever uses. And it's even more successful than the Florida one, such are Pig's skills in all things culinary, commerce and showmanship. As luck would have it, we encountered a small plush snowman toy laying in the street just as construction was about to begin, and so we adopted him, Pig put him in charge of the buildout, and now "Snowy" is a happy resident of Pig Acres.

And so, one day recently, while performing our science experiments with stupid AI, Pig suggested summoning up images of his burger stand. We did, and some of them were funny and cute and weird but none of them looked like Pig, although surprisingly we did get a few results that resembled his actual stand. Curious, Pig kept telling me to refresh the query again and again, and began telling me "Save that one. And that one too." Soon we had a bunch of these slightly disturbing uncanny-valley false Pig pictures. Though I grew more appalled by the minute staring at this slop, Pig grew more intrigued. He proposed this very website feature you are reading now.

"But Pig," I sputtered, "These don't even look like you! These images are imitating the photography of many different time periods, and no two location is identical in any of them!" He grinned and giggled.

"Lighten up, big guy," he said. "They're just illustrations. But you know what else?" He waved his hand in a sweeping motion across the images in the folder. "In a way..... they really are all true and they're all me."
